    First Stage Pre-Filter

    High quality filter restores the HEPA 500 airscrubber to full efficiency. Replace regularly to ensure maximum performance.

    Activated Carbon Filter

    HEPA filtration is increasingly seen as the single most important safety device available for creating a safe environment for jobsite workers. Now, with the Activated Carbon Filter, the DefendAir can play an even more important role in keeping an enclosed environment clean and safe – both for workers and for occupants.

    The activated carbon filter now equips the HEPA 500 to capture a wide variety of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including soot and smoke, food odors, fumes from paint and paint thinners, sewer odors, and many other compounds.
    No modification of the DefendAir is required – users simply place the new carbon filter inside the cabinet in front of HEPA filter, and then re-secure the cover. Capacity of the carbon filter will vary widely depending on conditions, but it should be replaced when a decline of effectiveness is noted. 

    DOP Stage 2 HEPA 500 Pre-Filter

    The addition of the DOP filter makes the DefendAir HEPA 500 a high efficiency three-stage air filtration unit, ready for any sensitive job requiring first-pass HEPA filtration. With the standard pre-filter, DOP Stage 2 pre-filter and the HEPA primary filter installed, the HEPA 500 passes laboratory DOP testing conducted per ANSI standards, achieving an efficiency rating of 99.97% against oily aerosol particles down to 0.3 microns.

    Install the DOP filter between the standard pre-filter and the HEPA primary filter.  
    DOP stands for "Dispersed Oil Particulate," the name of a standard procedure for testing the effectiveness of HEPA filtration. The DOP test introduces an dense cloud of extremely fine particulates into the filter under controlled conditions. DOP testing is often conducted in specific types of stringent air quality control job sites that require first-pass HEPA filtration.
