Look at the facts when selecting a new Portable Carpet Cleaning Extraction Machine…

At Cleaning Systems we often have customers in our showroom expressing disappointment with machines they have purchased when starting their businesses or updating their Portable Carpet Cleaning Machine.

Our trained staff and industry professionals can assist you in choosing the brand and capacity of a portable extractor suited to the work that you intend to do.

Below are a few pointers on selecting a new machine which will often be the most important purchase for your cleaning business.

  • Tank size or capacity: Capacity varies between 8 to 40 Litres, the size of solution and waste tanks will depend on the amount of cleaning you intend to do and the weight/size of the machine for easy movement/transportation.
Remember that filling & emptying of a machine is unprofitable downtime.
  • Vacuum Performance: Water lift and airflow are most important to remove moisture from carpets and leave the carpet or upholstery as dry as possible.
  • Pump size: This should be directly related to vacuum performance and the type of work to be undertaken. Most upholstery will be cleaned between 100 & 150 psi, most carpets will require between 200 & 350 psi.
All machines should have an adjustable water pressure regulator.
  • Hot water: Inline external heaters are a clear benefit to cleaners as they increase chemical action in the cleaning process and reduce machine weight.
  • Build quality: Reliability and strength of Rotomoulded housings and the fitment of vacuums/pumps is paramount
  • Serviceability: Machine access to pumps/vacuums, the availability of spare parts, and the use of competent service technicians to support product warranties and servicing needs should also be very important when purchasing.
