We buy heavily discounted things all our lives as a general consumer so this is nothing new to us all.   With a TruckMount that is responsible for producing your daily income, the discount on offer will inevitably  take  away from after sales service.

At CSL we purchase a TruckMount in a box just like any other distributor around the world, and then sell it to a customer.    This is under similar purchasing conditions to you buying a lawn mower in a box from your local hardware store.

The mower retailer has no need to have after sales services because the market is huge and  there is probably a lawn mower repairer in every town .

In the case of a TruckMount, no other industries use them so there is no pool of repairers that are invested to learn about these machines for such a small market.

Keeping a strong technical support function has always been a Cleaning Systems priority that has paid off for our customers on too many occasions to count.

Our commitment to the industry includes a national mobile repair and maintenance service.

After a recent count, our team has had direct contact with 336 TruckMounts around the country in the last 3 years.

56% of those machines are more than 3 hours drive away from the point of sale.

The benefits to owners , especially in the South Island,  is significant because the only other specialist support service that is in any way invested in New Zealand, are the manufacturers back in North America.

Surely my usual mechanic can  provide support for a Truckmount?  He is so good with my Prius!

After selling Truckmounts for 30 years we can tell you this is definitely not the case.  Some things like engine oil changes will be easy fixes for your local mechanic but TruckMounts are unusual and complex machines that take years of experience to understand and be fully familiar with all the potential needs.
Establishing a team of staff to best support this equipment takes a very long time and needs depth of experience that cannot be replaced easily.

Back in 2021 we realised that close support was needed by the mobile technicians from our team in the office .

We purchased a REALWEAR hands free information and communication system  so that we could have direct contact with our team members while they work.

The headset allows excellent quality Microsoft Teams, conversation between the user and a remote advisor on any type of device.   The onboard camera gives them a great view of what the wearer is seeing.

The arm you can see in front of Dans right eye is a screen that gives him a view the same as looking at a 7 inch Tablet with all the same functionality too.

He can easily find and view written  procedural guides, circuit diagrams and video information all accessible using spoken commands.

If a new photograph or diagram is needed to better understand the situation, it can be sent through to the headset very easily.
